To Whom It may Concern I Joseph Nance of the County of Bladen and State of North Carolina being weak of body
but of Sound and perfect mind and memory. Blessed be
Almighty God for it. Do make and publish this my Last
will and testament in manner and form Following that is to
day In the first place I leave unto my beloved wife Mary
Nance the whole of my real and personal Estate during her
widowhood. If she should marry then To draw an equal
share with the whole of the herits. I give and bequeath unto
my four sons, Donald M Nance, Joshua
L Nance, Joseph I(?) Nance, and David T Nance, the whole of my
lands. The rest of my property to be equally divided among
The whole of my heirs. Only fifty dollars
extraordinary To each of my six daughters, Anny Hester, Fanny Butlar, Patience Nance,
Dorithy Nance, Elizabeth Nance and Mary W Nance, provided John
Butlar Husband of the above mentioned Fanny Butlar should
Pay up one hundred and fifty dollars for a piece of ~Next
page~ Land purchased from William McE(illegible) by me If
the said John Butlar should fail paying up the Whole or any
part of the above mentioned one Hundred and fifty dollars
the remainder to be deducted Out of his part of the property

Brissy PARISH wills to son, Noel Parish : 200 acres where on

David: all Rest of land: To wife ; Agga the remaining part
of estate for life, then to sons, Jestin, George, Humphrey,
John and David Parish, Except 10lbs to John Parish,
Executors of will: Sons, George, Humphrey, Justin Parish

I give and bequeath to my son Duke WILLIAMS ten Shillings.
Secondly, I give and bequeath to my son John WILLIAMS Ten Shillings.
Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann SCALES, wife of Joseph SCALES ten Shillings. My reason for giving the above mentioned Sons and daughter Ann SCALES at this time only ten Shillings each because they each of them have I give their share of my estate previous to making this my last Will and testament.
Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my son Duke WILLIAMS one hundred acres of land the North end of my land being John Watt's Land on the east side of Hogan's Creek which such land I do devise to him and his heirs forever.
Fifthly (sic) I give and bequeath to my son Robert WILLIAMS my house man named Abram who is now in his possession. After my wife's death in case my son Robt. should depart this life before his Mother it's then my desire and will that my beloved Wife dispose of the said Negro as she pleases.
Lastly, I devise and bequeath to my four daughters to wit Polly, Betsy, Rebecca and Lucinda, attend all manner of my estate both real and personal of what nature of kind however to them and their heirs forever to be divided between them at the decision of my two sons Robt. and Marmaduke WILLIAMS at any time that they think proper after allowing my beloved wife Ann WILLIAMS a sufficient portion also at their decision to support her without toil of labour (sic) and to be maintained genteely (sic) during her life. And I do hereby appoint my two sons to wit Robert WILLIAMS and Marmaduke WILLIAMS and my beloved wife Ann WILLIAMS my whole and sole executors of this my last will and testament revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three.

Last Will and Testament of Polly Nance, April 8, 1867.
IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN I Polly
Nance, of said county and state, widow of Wiatt Nance, being weak in
body, but of sound mind and memory, but considereing
the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make this
my last will and testament, revoking all other by me
heretofore made in manner and form heretofor
mentioned, viz:
Item first. I give and bequeath to my daughter-in-law, Frances Nance, widow and relict of my son Harbert Nance, and her lawful heirs of her body following named (viz): Unicy, Nancy Emeline, Ellen Sophronia, and Delaney Adeline, the following named personal property to sue for in their own names and to have forever, the following (viz), one note of hand on Henry Baucom, amount six hundred and fifty dollars and 24 cents, dated December 18, 1858; due January 7, 1859, with the following credits, viz: one of forty-five dollars and 80 cents, dated October 22, 1861; another of one hundred dollars, dated May 29, 1862, I do, dated January 10, 1863 of one hundred dollars. Also two beds and furniture, one chest and contents, two pots, one oven, 1 milk dairy, 6 earthen plates, 1 set of cups and saucers, 6 chairs, 2 tables, 2 jars, 2 jugs, and 2 earthen dishes.
