Will of Clement NANCE
Will of Elizabeth (CULVER) NANCE
State of Indiana, Clay County
- July 30th AD 1859. Elizabeth (CULVER) Nance being
weak in boddy though same in mind & memory.
Considering the uncertainty of live, do make this my last
will and testament viz- first I wish all my just debts to
be punctually paid. Secondly I bequest or will to my son,
James Nance, Sixty-one
dollars sixty two and a half cents it being the amoung of
a note I hold on him or remainder of said note together
with the interest on the same. I wish to have at my death,
& I further wish him to have the use of one hundred
dollars and pay no interest on the same for the term of
two or three years to be collected out of money due me or
coming from John W. Nance the
hundred dollars above mentioned after the term of as above
set forth. I wish it to be equally divided between six of
my children viz. Mary Ann Snider,
Lydia Baldwin, Jane Tyre, Milly
Melvin, Henry Nance
and Webster Nance. Thirdly
my wish is further that my son, Joseph
Nance, shall have full power as I grant this to
him to collect and pay over to said heris the amount set
forth in the foregoing will. And the remainder I will and
bequeath to my daughter-in-law, Nancy
Nance, for the care taken of myself or for her
trouble and my wish is further that my daughter, Lydia
Baldwin, is to have my wearing apparel together with my
bed and bedding and let it be further understood that my
son, Joseph Nance, is
empowered either in my lifetime or after my death to
collect the moneys due me and apply it or the one hundred
dollars to my son, James Nance,
so soon as it may be collected, in witness whereof I have
unto set my hand and seal the day and date for it above
written.
