Strauder/Strawder NANCE of White Co. & Franklin Co. IL. Other
brothers would
include Richard, Jesse, Fountain, Wesley and Harrison and a few
daughters. Strauder, Jesse and Richard served in the union in the civil
war from Illinois.
Strauder/Strawder died in Franklin Co. IL . Harvey born KY 1822. Family
in White Co. IL in 1860. Strawder, Harvey and Wesley bought land in White Co., IL in 1852-1854 My candidate for father of Harvey is Peter NANCE seen in the 1840 census of Wayne Co. IL. Harrison and Peter are seen on pages 15 & 16 in the 1840 census Wayne Co Il. I believe Peter married Elizabeth THORNTON of KY. Would like to confirm Harvey's siblings & ancestors. |

My father is Earl Dixon NANCE, grandfather, whom I have possibly found in some census' is John Dixie NANCE...here we have trouble, except for the census we NOTHING about him. He is buried in a cemetary in either Puryear KY or TN or Paris Tn next to John M. NANCE who would've been around 70 when John Dixie was born. >From census I have found John Dixie living with someone who was caring for him or boarding him, we know neither for sure who his father was nor his mother. He died when my Dad was 2 and I would like to try to find something to connect the past before my Dad, Earl is gone. Earl's mom, my granny was Louis SMITH NANCE, then after death Louise NANCE WILLIAMS or SMITH WILLIAMS, but I cannot even find Earl's birth record,. John Dixie NANCE it is uncertain of his exact birth 1906 or 1905 , but if you have knowledge that could help please contact me. I am 48 living in Conyers Ga. along with Earl same city. FRANSLEY and now resides in Cinn. Ohio Aunt Julia resides in New

They had 2 sisters Minerva (McGowen) and Sarah (Tate). in 1870, Wright was living in Izard County, AR. Josiah was killed in the Civil War. Last record of Wright was on the 1880 Collin County, TX census. Catherine was a widow living with her nephew, Harvey Doty in Johnson County TX in 1900.
