About 1968 - Vietman....When
he got orders to go overseas he was suppose to go to Phan Rang Vietnam.
Phan Rang had been closed down. Everyone went to Sigon Vietnam first.
So they cut him another set of orders in Sigon and sent him to
Thailand. But he was in Sigon for a month so that made him a Vietnam
veteran.

WOODROW RUSSELL NANCE, JR.
Woodrow Russell Nance, Jr. age 63, of Tazewell, was born March 12, 1938
and passed away December 16, 2001 at Claiborne County Hospital.
He was of the Methodist Faith. He was retired from the Air Force and a
Vietnam Veteran. He was retired from the Department of Human Services
of Claiborne County. He was preceeded in death by his parents: Woodrow
and Sarah Elizabeth Nance; sister, Barbara Disney.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Nance of Tazewell; daughters and
son-in-law:, Sonia Kinback of Jensen Beach, Fl., Denise and Eddie Bunch
of Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law: Mike and Linda Nance of Los
Vegas, Nv., sisters and brother-in-law: Mary and Glenn M. Humphrey of
Clinton, Sarah and Dykie Runion of North Carolina; 4 grandchildren; and
1 great grandchild.
Funeral services were held 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 18 in the Claiborne
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Brooks officiating.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 19 at Irish
Memorial Gardens in Tazewell.
Pallbearers: Employees of the Department of Human Services. Claiborne
Funeral Home in charge.
